Riley is 6 months!

Baby Riley is 6 months old!  We celebrated her half birthday by strapping her in her car seat for 12 hours and drove to AZ.  She did amazing!  She really is such a happy baby and very rarely cries.

She has been my old child who loves tummy time.  Since birth she has loved being on her tummy.

Sometimes, when she cries, I just watch her for a few minutes.  It is so cute and like I said, it rarely happens.  I mean, look at this sad face!

She has started eating solid foods.  It has taken her a few weeks to really get interested in them, but now she loves food time!

She is learning to move around.  Here she is demonstrating the correct form for push ups.

The kids insist on torturing her!

She has also discovered how to blow air out of her mouth while eating.

She constantly is scooting herself under our couches.  ha ha

She loves her big sister Sadie. She is a little bit softer than the other kids. Ha ha.

She loves to chew on apples.  But now she is learning how to bite pieces off of them, so we have to be really careful!

And here is a video showing how she is becoming mobile.  Yikes!  I am not ready for this!

Random

I love it when she tells me she isn't tired and then I find her like this.  Silly girl!

Zac didn't want to hear the music we were listening to so he came up with his own solution.

SNOW!  We haven't had much snow this year, so the kids loved it when it snowed the other day.  It was all melted in a few days, but it was fun while it lasted.

 Snow angels.

 Emery making a snow angel.

We made cake the other day for our anniversary.  The kids all helped.

They also helped frost the cake.  I looked away for 2 seconds and then the cake looked like this. There is no fixing that.  Ha ha.  Oh well, it still tasted good!~

Sadie helping Riley practice her sitting.  She is pretty good at sitting now...not too wobbly.  Now she is working on crawling!  Yikes!

Finally I got it to work!

Yay!  It worked!  I have been trying to add videos here for months and they haven't worked.  Finally I got one to load!  Woo Hoo!

This is Emery dancing in an Elsa dress accompanied by Sadie singing.  :)

Santa Run

My friend Katrina and I decided to sign up for a 5k.  SO we trained and trained and the day finally came to do our 5k in Salt Lake.  The weather had been unusually warm all up until that day.  That day there was a rain/ice storm RIGHT during our race.  Nice.

 SO many Santas!

Fortunately, we squeezed under this tent while we were waiting for the race to start.  It was POURING!

Then of course when we finished the rain died down a bit.  It was lots of fun though.  Maybe we will do it again next year!

Temple Lights and Christmas Concert

Rob and I were lucky enough to get invited to see the Mormon Tabernacle Choir perform their Christmas concert this year.  It was so fun because Sesame Street was their special guest!  We really loved it and we can't wait to see it again once it comes out on youtube!

We were especially surprised when our seats were so close to the stage.  We could have sat in the front row if we had wanted, but then we wouldn't have been able to see everything.  So we sat about ten rows back and as close to the middle as we could.

 It was amazing!

Then a few weeks later, we went with Luke and Taylor and Duncan to see the temple lights with the kids.  Even though it is really stressful because there are SO many people there, I think the kids had a good time.  :)

 It's so big!!!

We took a family picture right when we got there to get it over and done with.

The temple really is a beautiful place.

I loved this view.  So many bright lights.  This picture really doesn't do it justice!
