Happy Halloween

This year Halloween was so fun.  I procrastinated figuring out costumes until the last minute, but everything came together ok.  It is so fun to see the kids get so excited about these different holidays.  Sadie was so excited...and so was Zac.  But I think he was just copying Sadie.  ha ha.  Anyway...we carved pumpkins on Monday night and then we had our ward party and trick or treating tonight.  It was tons of fun.

Carving the pumpkins.  I was so surprised to see how much Emery participated.  She tried to put the spoon in the pumpkin and scoop out the guts.

Here she goes again.  She really wanted to help!

And she loved playing with all the gooey insides of the pumpkins.  She would just grab it and hold it and play with it...and then after a good ten minutes of that, she decided to eat it.  And that just grossed me out, so we didn't let her do that anymore!

Here are the kids last minute costumes.  I remembered I had bought Sadie's about 2 years ago on sale after Halloween and I pulled it out and of course she loved it.  And Zac chose to be a slice of pizza.  (And yes, he is wearing red lipstick in this picture.  I was putting makeup on Sadie and he really wanted some too.  ha ha)

Rob and I didn't have anything to wear, so we made ourselves nerds.  Ha ha.  I was kinda embarrassed walking around like this at the ward party since all the other costumes were cute and pretty, but looking at the picture, I think we looked pretty good.  :)  And Emery is in  a tinkerbell costume.

 Zac's funny face.

 the nerds.

When the kids got home, the promptly took out each piece of candy one at a time and counted it.  I thought it was cute how Zac lined his up in a row.

And Sadie said she had 80 pieces!  Yes...she can count that high...with just a tiny bit of help!

And here are the kids and Rob by their pumpkins.  Such a fun Halloween.  Hope everyone else enjoyed their day too!

Garage

Here is our garage about 9 days ago...

We finally felt like it was time to tear down the garage.  So we cleared it out, and started taking it apart.  Thanks to our friends and family for coming to help.

First the shingles needed to come off.

After that, everything just came apart really easily.  We bought a sledge hammer the night before and they didn't even need to take it out of the van.  That wood just came off with their hands.

These men worked hard that day.  After they got the roof off, they pretty much just pushed the cinderblock walls over.  check it out.

Doug and Luke give it a little push...

 TIMBER...

Rob was not standing in the right spot.  ha ha.

And then they started to clean up the mess.  It is still a pretty big mess back there, but it is looks a LOT better after Luke and Taylor and Rob worked on it for a few hours yesterday.  Thanks so much for the help everyone!

Mouth full of money

I mean...these pictures require no explanation...every time I look at them, I laugh out loud.  So funny.

But I will tell you anyway.  The kids earned a quarter each to spend at the vending machines.  This is what they chose...and they love them!  Sadie says when she wears them, that means she is a bad guy. ha ha.  I love it.

Ok.  Enjoy.

This one is so funny.  AHHH!

McDonnalds

We had the chance to take the kids to McDonnalds to show them something really cool.  Oh yeah...and get dinner too.  But really the reason we were going was to see this :

The kids were pretty excited.  Why?  Because see who Sadie is pointing at?  That is my brother Scott.  His face is on the McDonnalds posted for the Monopoly game they are doing right now.  I think it is pretty awesome.  No he didn't have to pose for this picture.  This is a picture that someone (not scott or his friend)
took while he was at a US soccer game.  So it is real intensity my friends.

Hobble Creek Canyon

WE went up the canyon to look at the pretty leaves a few Mondays ago.  The kids loved it and so did I.  I love the fall colors.  We got some pizza on our way and ate it there and then we all ran around looking for different colored leaves.  It was fun.

 I love this picture.

And this one.  That poor girl puts up with so much tackling...i mean hugging from her siblings.  I guess it comes with being a third child.

Finally a normal picture.  You can totally tell Zac is yelling CHEESE at the top of his lungs.  ha ha

Mr. fancy pants couldn't gag down any of our cheap pizza, so he ate his sushi instead.  Just kidding.  He ate pizza too.

So did Emery.  She loved it.

And Zac is such a little ham these days.  He loves to make people laugh.  And if you laugh at something one time, he does it about 50 more times.

I am kinda bummed that I forgot to take pictures of the colors of the leaves, but I guess we will just have to go again before all the leaves fall off the trees.

Pumpkin Patch

I noticed this week when I was driving to Walmart that the Pumpkin patch in our area was open.  So on Friday evening after dinner, we decided to pack up the kids and head over there.  It was so fun!  We will probably visit a few more times before Halloween!

Here we all are before everyone got really dirty.

We made it through the hay maze in record time.

The kids loved the animals they had there.  No kangaroo this year though...just a huge stinky pig and some sheep.

We actually went on the hayride.  We had never gone on it before, and it was a lot of fun.  Zac was really quiet the whole ride, but I could tell he was loving every second by the grin on his face.

The corn pit is always the kid's favorite part.

 Jumping off the hay.

There goes Sadie.  We lost one of her hair clips in the corn.  She was pretty sad about that.

Even Emery got in on the corn action.

These kids had a blast.  They were sad to go home, but we told them we would come back another day.

Emery Laughs

I love hearing my kids laugh.  And Emery has been doing a lot of that lately.  It is so fun to see.  Zac can make her laugh really hard.  And then Sadie will come and do the same thing, and Emery doesn't laugh very much for Sadie.  It is so funny.  But I love seeing Zac make Emery laugh because he gets so happy.  Here are some videos.
