My Roommate...my soulmate!

Well, many of you probably think I am talking about my husband Rob...and while he is my current roommate as well as my soulmate, I am talking about my previous roommate Holly. Her and I were roommates for 5 semesters. We had so much fun together. One of our friends "vic" said one night that we were soulmates...and so we started calling each other soulmates.

I have many memories of my friend Holly...here are a few of my favorite!

~The night that we made a video for Anthony and ate our yardstick of gum. Disgusting.

~The night we dressed up and ran around DT handing out candy and playing a flute thingy. We realized months later that we had taken pictures of people in our own ward. Kind of embarrassing.

~The times we would go to 7-11 for slurpies and buy pizza rolls.

~The picture slideshow we made in the stairwell of Uhall at DT . So fun!

But here is one of my favorite memories of being her roommate:

We were in our room one night and I was feeling the effect of the freshman 15, aka I needed to work out or eat less. I decided to start doing some sit ups on the floor. Holly looked over and was like...Lindsey you make me sick. Of course she said it in a joking way...but then she proceeded to take masking tape and tape me to the floor so that I would stop doing sit ups. It still makes me laugh out loud when I think of that night.

Anyway, I am glad that we still get to see each other every once in a while, but I do miss seeing her every day.

I love you Holly!

PS. I will post a picture tomorrow. Sadie is sleeping in the room where the computer holding all of my pictures is. :)

My crafty side...

I love to be crafty, but let me tell you, it is really hard to find time to do this kind of stuff with a one year old. I started spending my evenings being crafty and I love it! Here are two things that I made for Sadie for her birthday/Valentine's day.

The first thing I made was a little dress out of fabric that I got for 50 cents a yard. It turned out really cute but it looks even cuter when it is on her...Scroll down if you don't believe me...

Here is a little pull toy that I made. I got this idea out of a book that I read. All it is is a couple of those cardboard frozen juice tubes with some beans inside covered with material. I think it is really cute and I think Sadie likes it.

Here is Sadie in her brand new dress...such a cutie!

Somebody had a birthday...

It was Sadie!

Here she is with her first piece of mail. Exciting!

Sadie is now one year old! Wow...the time has gone by so fast it's amazing. She is just such a joy to have in our lives and we love every minute with her. Her birthday was so much fun. It started out with a yummy breakfast of pancakes (with chocolate chips)
in the shape of a 1. Well, it was supposed to be a one, but there was an incident when I flipped it, so it ended up not looking like a one. Oh well.

Then Sadie had a blast playing with some balloons, seeing great grandma, and going visiting teaching with me. Finally the party started when Shanna, Scott and Erica, and my grandma came over for home made pizza. Yummy! Sadie then opened presents with my parents watching on the web cam. It was fun and Sadie loves all of her gifts! Thanks to everyone who got her one.

Then came time for the cake. She dug into it pretty good, but she didn't eat it like I thought she would. She mostly just stuck her hand in, and held it up to Uncle Scott or me to eat. Silly girl. She is such a good sharer(is that even a word?).

Anyway, Here are some pictures of the Big Day. I will post pictures of the things I made for her in a later post.

Sadie and the balloons.

Family picture. We had a better picture, but I guess I got the wrong one...

Opening gifts, she really wanted this one. Dad couldn't get in out of the package fast enough.

The pancake that was supposed to look like a 1.

Yummy cake!

Here are her stats from her one year Dr. appointment if anyone is interested.
Weight-21.5 lbs. (51st percentile)
Height-31.5 inches (99th percentile)
Head- don't remember but it was the 80-something percentile.

My own yogurt bites...

Have any of you heard of those freeze dried Gerber yogurt bites? I thought they looked yummy so I got some for Sadie. It was a tiny bag and it cost me $2.39. Well, Sadie really liked them and so did I...but they were gone in a flash.

So I decided to make my own yogurt bites. I had a little ice cube tray that makes little tiny ice cubes in cute shapes like hearts and stars. First I spread the yogurt into the ice cube tray using a spatula. When all the spaces were full, I put the tray in the freezer until they were completely frozen.

To take them out of the tray (which consisted of lots of banging on and bending) I like to run the bottom of the tray under water to help get the cubes out. It really helps. They are yummy and very convenient and they don't cost a lot, as long as you wait for a good sale on yogurt. Sadie loves them

Catch up...

It has been a while since I have posted anything interesting. I will try to catch everyone up on what has been going on here. First off, I finished my English class yesterday. I got a B+ in the class which I am very happy with since English isn't one of my strong points. So only one more final to take and I will have my degree! Hooray!

Rob and I went to the circus on monday evening with some friends. It was funny because we got a babysitter for Sadie...and we went to the circus without her. Ha ha. It was really fun. We saw people getting rides on elephants and there were some cool performances too. We had to leave early because it was going so late but I really had a good time.

Sadie will be a year old in one week from today. Crazy! She is so adorable and we love having her in our lives. She seriously makes me laugh all the time. She knows what bye bye means and she can kind of say it too...(bah bah) Whenever I say bye bye she walks over to her bedroom door and closes it so she can't see me anymore. Its hilarious. The video at the end of her when we were playing that game. I love the part when she is walking right toward me and then i say "bye bye" and she stops immediately and turns around to close the door. Cute!

I will have another post sometime soon hopefully with some more pictures and stories. For now, I think Sadie is trying to eat a penny, so I gotta go!

Here are some people who went on an elephant ride...The little harness thing started sliding to the side and the people were practically on the side of the elephant. Notice all the people surrounding the elephant holding the people up. Sheesh. Tense moment. Nobody fell off though.

Here is Rob and me. We had pretty good seats for all of the good stuff.

Here is Sadie after she had her first oreo. Yes, that mess is from one oreo.

Here is the video of Sadie being cute. If you listen close, she says hi. Enjoy!
