More Emery

Here are some pictures of Emery. She is about three weeks old in these pictures. I can't believe it has been that long. She will be 4 weeks old tomorrow. Wow. She is such a good baby and she's really cute too!

Hanging out on the floor after bath time.

Daddy and Emery taking a snooze on the couch.

I didn't rotate this pictures...sorry. But I love her face in it. SO cute!

For Christmas I got Rob all kinds of stuff to make sushi at home. Ever since his co-workers invited him out for sushi he has been obsessed with it! He loves to go out to sushi and it is not cheap! So I decided if he learned how to make it himself, we could save some money.

So he opened his gift on Sunday, and on Monday night, we ate some homemade sushi. It was really yummy. We made one with avocado and cucumber in the middle and another with spam and pineapple. They were both good.

Here's to many more nights of homemade sushi!

The last week

I have been very spoiled. Mostly because my mom has been here for the past three weeks helping with the kids. But also because my family is awesome and I have a great husband who helps me with anything I need him to. Anyway, my mom left today and I am a little nervous about handling these three kiddos on my own! When I would feed Emery, my mom would play with the other kids. When I was done feeding her, she would take her an burp her while I played with the other kids. So we will see what the next weeks bring. I hope I survive!!!

Here are some pictures from the last week or so.

Grandma with the three Kevan grandkids. They sure do love her and we will miss her tons!

Our first real family picture with Emery. We will need that updated ASAP when I slim down a bit and actually put makeup on. :)

A sister moment.

Cute Emery.

I love this picture because it shows her dimple. So adorable!

Sadie all dressed up to go to her dance recital. (See next post for the video)

Mom spent her birthday here in Utah with us and my dad sent her a cake in the mail. YUM!

Us waiting in line for a free carriage ride. It was fun, but really cold!

The kids in their cute hats. Emery has a matching owl hat that I made for her, but she doesn't really like to wear it. So no picture yet!

Dance recital

Sadie has been in a dance class for a few months now and her first recital was last Tuesday. It was so cute. SHe was sooooo excited about it and her new costume and everything. She did great. Here is a video of one of her dances.

Sadie is the one in the very cute.

Happy Birthday!

Mom talking to dad on video chat while opening her presents.

So Monday was my mom's birthday. She was here with us in Utah, so we got up and I made her some yummy eggs with ham and veggies and potatoes for breakfast. The kids kinda had a rough day that morning so I put them down for an early nap. The plan was to have roast and potatoes for dinner with my brother and his family at our house around 5. Then we were going to have a fun treasure hunt that my brother had thought up and at the end my mom would find some fun gifts that my dad left up here for her.

So remember how I said my kids (just Sadie and Zac. Emery was great!) were having a hard morning.? Well, they had an even harder afternoon. When they woke up from their nap, they were both really grumpy, which is weird for Sadie to be grumpy after she has a good nap. Anyway, I walked over to my neighbors house to give her a clue as part of the treasure hunt that my mom was going to do later, and about one minute after we got home, Sadie threw up. Nice.

So we threw the kids in the bath, and my mom took over because I had to go feed Emery. Of course, this is when Evan and Shanna show up so we told them that Sadie had just gotten sick and they didn't want to get sick so they never even came inside. My mom got the kids out of the bath and went to talk to Evan and Shanna outside for about 5 minutes. I told her that Zac would be ok for that long without a diaper. Well...guess what?? About 2 minutes after my mom wnet outside, Zac pooped on the floor!!! AHHHHH!

So I had to put Emery down for a while while I got a diaper on him and cleaned the floor. Then Rob got home and announced he wasn't feeling too great either. So my mom, Zac and I sat down and ate roast and potatoes. It was yummy, but there was a ton of it because we had planned on company. Then it was time for cupcakes. I told Zac he needed to take one more bite of his meat in order to have a cupcake because he hadn't eaten anything. This made him very angry and he SCREAMED and threw the biggest tantrum EVER. Seriously he was crying for about an hour or so until Rob finally calmed him down.

sigh. Despite all of that...I hope my mom had a happy birthday. We love you mom!

Just a few to tide you over

Here are just a few pictures to tide everyone over until I can make a real post about our little girl Emery.

The nurse made this cute little sign to go on her bed while she was in the hospital. So cute.

Right after her bath. They put a bow in her hair and gave her a mohawk. So funny...and adorable!

Our last family picture as a family of four. Now we need someone to take a picture of our family of five! :)

Emery Catherine Kevan

Last night we were surprised by the early arrival of our little baby GIRL! We named her Emery Catherine Kevan. She is beautiful and has a head full of dark hair. She was 8 lbs 1 oz. It is a good thing she came 2 weeks early or else she would have ended up being like 10 pounds! Yikes. We love her and can't wait to bring her home tomorrow. And then I can post some pictures.

My Dress

My grandma made me this dress when I was little. My mom brought it to Utah a few years ago and it finally fits Sadie. The amazing thing is, I just hung it in her closet and she picked it out one Sunday and said she wanted to wear it to church. Awesome. And I think she looks really cute in it! Thanks Grandma!

I seriously love these two!

This is the second post in one night! I am on a roll...

This is just some funny things that the kids have been doing lately.

Calvin got to come over one day while his parents went to the temple. It was a blast! He played with pretty much every toy we have I think. ha ha. And the kids loved having a friend over to play with. This is Zac and Calvin playing with the fireman hats.

Pretty cute firemen I must say!

All of the kids in our little cardboard house having fun.

We finally said goodbye to the cardboard house. We had it for a long time and set it up and took it down lots. But it was so used that it was breaking, so I let the kids demolish it. They had a lot of fun crawling through this window.

Zac even got in on the action. I was surprised he could make it through the window, but he did and this kept the kids busy for at least 20 minutes.

I got a rug and put it by the kitchen sink. The kids think it is their blanket apparently.

They like to lay on the floor and pull it on top of them, and drag it to the living room and roll it up and unroll it. Pretty silly. What is really funny was when I showed Rob this picture on the camera, he asked me who that third person was under the rug. I had to explain that it was just Care Bear. ha ha. In his defense, the screen on the camera is really small.

The kids have been playing together so well lately. I love it. It is so fun to see them interact well with each other. They definitely have their moments of hair pulling and pushing and tears, but I love seeing them actually having fun together. Sadie is such a sweet big sister and Zac wants to copy everything she does. It is cute. I love these two. Can't wait to see how Zac is as a big brother!

Hide and Seek

I have a great husband. He is amazing with the kids and plays with them tons when he gets home from work. As an added bonus, he is extremely funny. He has me laughing all the time. Anyway, yesterday he made me laugh so hard that I cried, so I thought I would let everyone in on his hilarious comment.

He had gotten home from work and was playing hide and seek with the kids. Sadie would run and hide and Zac would kinda wander and Rob would go find them. This was going on for about 10 minutes while I was in the kitchen. Then I went to find them and it was Sadie's turn to hide. She ran off and Rob turned to me and said "the balloon is going to be a dead giveaway..." in a really funny voice. It was so funny. Let me show you why. Take a look at all of her hiding places.

Thinking about it now still makes me laugh, but last night it was so funny. I could not stop laughing. She had no clue that the balloon gave away where she was hiding EVERY time. Actually in the picture where the balloon is barely sticking above the bed I thought she had caught on because as I was trying to take a picture the balloon kept getting lower and lower. So I thought she was pulling it down so Rob couldn't find her. By the time I couldn't see the balloon anymore, I looked down and Sadie was under the bed by my feet. So the balloon had just followed her under the bed. So funny! I love my kids. They are great.

Homemade Ice cream

We borrowed somebody's ice cream maker last week while we were learning about the letter I in preschool. We made 2 batches of homemade ice cream and boy were they yummy! The first batch was strawberry because I had bought 8 pounds of strawberries from the store (for only 6.99!) and so we needed to use those up. The second batch was really yummy because it was cookie dough. So good! If anyone wants to get me an ice cream maker for Christmas, I wouldn't be opposed to the idea. The great thing about this machine was that it didn't need any ice or salt, and the ice cream was done in 30 minutes. So I started the ice cream right before we sat down for dinner, and by the time the dinner mess was cleaned up, there was fresh yummy ice cream waiting for us to eat!

This is just a funny picture of Sadie. She is sitting inside a light box thing that I use sometimes to take pictures of the earrings that I sell in my etsy shop.

The kids were so intrigued by the ice cream maker. They wanted front row seats.
It was pretty cute!

I think it was done now...that is why they look so happy! :)

Raking leaves

The other day I was inside fixing dinner and Rob ran in and said "come out here with the camera when you get the chance." Now he usually doesn't think about taking pictures very often so I thought this must be good. So I grabbed the camera and headed out to the backyard. This is what I found :

The kids were helping Rob rake the leaves in our backyard. Apparently Zac saw Rob get the two rakes out and headed over to the garage and picked out that huge shovel for himself and dragged it all the way over to where they were raking. By that time, Sadie was done helping so Rob gave him the other rake. Funny.

The other funny thing is that about 2 hours later, we had a huge wind storm that lasted pretty much all night. The leaves are now everywhere. But at least they had a good time.

Happy Halloween

The kids went out with Rob this year for some trick or treating. I guess Zac loved ringing the doorbells and Sadie was the one who said "trick or treat". That is a good system I guess. They got some good loot and it looked like they had a fun time. And since they went to bed I haven't heard a I guess it wore them out.

Last Thursday we had our ward Halloween party. The primary was in charge of it so I was kinda stressed out that week. But it turned out great. Everything went smoothly and the decorations turned out pretty good.

As always, the pictures are out of order!

Crys and Alan came by on Halloween to show off their costumes and check out Sadie and Zac's. They were Angry Birds.

Sadie and her good friend Jake at the ward Halloween party. They didn't want their picture taken. But check out that lion costume. Jake's grandma made that for him! Pretty awesome!

I love this picture because you can see the little tail sticking out! So cute! I call it a dinosaur costume, but Sadie says it is a dragon. Either way, it is cute!

And our little pegacorn.

Before they left for trick or treating.

And here is a family shot. Rob and I didn't dress up this year. But the cuteness of our kids makes up for it I think!

These are just pictures of the set up for the ward Halloween party. This is where all of the food got put.

I made these for table runners. Pretty cute I think! And cheap cheap cheap!

And these were our awards for costumes and pumpkins. They were also cheap and easy.

This was our little photo booth where families could get their pictures taken.

And this was the kids favorite part. The homemade rootbeer. No. They didn't drink any, but they loved watching it being made. All that dry ice. Pretty cool.

Anyway our Halloween weekend was pretty was yours?
