Car Track

The other day we went upstairs and I promptly cleaned the floor and vacuumed. I decided that since the kids were already asking me what we could do that was fun (and it was only 8 am) that I would get out the masking tape and make a car track for them to play on. They liked it and we left it on the floor for three days. I think I originally saw this idea on Pinterest.

Our friends Jake and Andrew came over to play too. They had a lot of fun with this!

The whole thing....the part that went onto the couch was the airport and the buildings (squares) were the library, the post office and houses.

Maybe next week we will make a different car track! It was a lot of fun. And even better, the kids loved helping me clean up the tape and peel it off the floor. Nice.

My little snow bunnies

I love watching these two play in the snow. And they love the snow. I hope we get more of it this year so they can go sledding. I think Zac will love that!

Beauty pageants here we come!

So I have recently watched a few episodes of Toddlers and Tiaras (thank you netflix). That show is just ridiculous if you ask me...I can't believe that 7 month old girls compete in beauty pageants. Anyway, I love Wednesdays because Sadie has dance class. I love taking her to dance class, but I also love it when her friend's mom takes her because she usually invites Sadie over to play after class. And Sadie LOVES it.

So today was one of those days. At around 4:15, I saw that Sadie was walking up to the door and went out to greet her. My friend said "You're never going to let her come over again!" ha ha. This is what I saw:

Let's get a closer look shall we??

Nice huh? My friend has 4 daughters and they also had a few friends over so the older girls put makeup and nail polish on Sadie. Sadie loved every minute of it. She didn't even want to take a bath tonight because she didn't want her makeup to come off. ha ha.

Thanks LeeAnn for letting Sadie come over and play. She loves it!

Anyway, I love Sadie. Here is a video for you all to enjoy. (I love how she keeps her lips very still while she talks so she doesn't mess up her lipstick. So funny!)

Smiles

Emery has started smiling more and more. She is so adorable, but even more adorable when she smiles. I didn't get a great picture, but here are a few half smiles. Enjoy!

Check out her right dimple! So cute!

New Jammies

I think kids always look really cute in their jammies. We got new ones the other day at Old Navy, so i just had to take a picture.

By the way, Rob wants to start a clothing store called New Army...get it? Old Navy, New Army. What do you guys think?

Projects

For a while after I had Emery, I didn't want to do projects with the kids mostly because I didn't want to have to clean up the mess. But we have started making things and doing crafts again and it is a lot of fun. As long as I am not focusing on the mess that is being made! :)

We made these crowns the other day. Sadie loves to do projects...and Zac loves to do everything she does, so it works out. I just have to tell myself to not worry about the mess. Ha ha. Anyway, here is how they turned out.

First they decorated them with markers, then we added glue and glitter. I looked away for two seconds and when I looked back at Zac, I realized he had been dipping his fingers in the wet glue and glitter and eating it! Ew! I'm sure I will be seeing some sparkly diapers soon!

Finished! Zac's crown lasted about 10 minutes before he ripped it in half. Sadie's is still going strong after two days! Nice.

Then today while we were walking upstairs (we have to go outside to get upstairs) Sadie was looking really sad. I asked her what was wrong and she said that she was just really sad because the weatherman said it was going to snow and it is still not snowing. Ha ha. It was cute. So we decided to make our own snowflakes to hang up in our house since there isn't any snow outside. We made them out os popsicle sticks. I got the idea from my sister in law's preschool blog. Check it out...it is awesome.

I think this one is my favorite. Sadie made it.

All of the snowflakes ready to be hung. And let me just say that there is glitter everywhere in my house now! Especially in the kitchen.

I glued them all to a piece of ribbon and hung them on our wall. I love how they turned out. And it was really fun.

Reading

I love that my kids love to read these days. A lot of times when we are downstairs (where we keep most of the books) and I am feeding Emery or busy with something else, I will find the kids in their room reading. It is adorable. I love it. And I love how Sadie is such a good big sister and sends Zac to get more books and reads them to him. I will never get tired of finding my kids like this:

Reading books in the shower.

Reading on Sadie's bed.

This is how we find them a lot when we are having video calls with the grandparents. So if we are talking to you, and the kids aren't there...this is probably what they are doing.

I think it is adorable.

And usually I don't even mind the mess!

Like this one...

And this one. Notice how the bookshelf is half empty. Yeah..the books are scattered all over the house!

Little photo session

I actually put Emery in a dress today, so I figured I would take some pictures of her and the kids before church today. And since I was actually dressed and ready, I had Rob take a couple of me and the kiddos too. Here is a sampling of what I got:

Zac kept puttin his hand on Emery's head. So funny.

6 Weeks

I wish I could take a picture right now...Rob, Emery and Sadie are all asleep on our bed. It is adorable. But I don't want to wake them up...so I won't.

Anyway, Emery turned six weeks old last Thursday. Can you believe it? Crazy because it seems like she has been with us forever, but not at the same time. She is such a good little baby. She sleeps great as long as you are holding her, but is getting better at sleeping in her bed...especially at night. Apparently she laughed today. Figures she would do that after I handed her over to Rob...I missed it, but Rob said she was smiling and making laughing noises. So cute!

She is almost grown out of her 0-3 month clothes (newborns no longer fit!) so I had to get some 3-6 month clothes out for her. THey are in the washer right now...but most of them are just onsies...I may have to invest in some pants and some more footed jammies since that is ALL she wears. I did put her in a dress once, but it is too much of a hassle.

We love her so much and Sadie and Zac are such great older siblings.

I don't have hardly any pictures of Emery by herself. I need to work on that! But here is older sister Sadie holding her...she loves to hold Emery!

Emery wide awake.

I love this outfit. She looks like a candy cane!

Zac's smile.

A while ago we taught Zac how to smile...he obviously already knew how to smile, but now when we ask him to smile, this is what we get:

Doesn't it just melt your heart??

I love it. He probably gets tired of me asking him to smile, but hey...who can resist this face?

First snow of the year

This actually happened last Saturday, but I am just getting around to blogging about it. We woke up to snow last Saturday. It was great. The kids were so excited, so we went upstairs, ate breakfast and got our snow clothes on right away so the snow wouldn't melt before we had the chance to play in it. It was great packing snow and it wasn't very cold outside so it was a lot of fun. We stayed out for a while and the kids and I had a blast! Here are some pictures.

Zac showing me the snow...and he tried to throw it at me too but it mostly stuck to his mittens.

A big snowball that we made in the backyard. And by we I mean I made it and it was really tiring!

Cute Sadie. She is at such a fun age when it comes to playing in the snow.

Our snowman. It lasted about 10 seconds after I took this picture. The kids knocked it over. Ha.

Sick kids

It seems like my kids can't go one week without having a runny nose or a cough or a stomach bug. Seriously. Sigh...I guess it is part of being a parent, but I hate seeing my kids suffer. Anyway.

Last night I didn't have anything to do (I didn't want to do anything) and it was only 8. Rob told me to go to sleep...but I felt silly going to sleep that early. So I played around on the computer for a while and after about 45 minutes I decided I might as well go to sleep since I was just wasting time anyway. So I went to sleep, and I am glad that I did, because the only good sleep I got was from about 9 to 11:30.

At 11:30 Sadie woke up with a crazy barking cough and she couldn't catch her breath. Rob was holding a sleeping Emery, so I ran in there and tried to calm her down, but nothing I did would help. I brought her to the bathroom and opened the window for her to breath the cold air. That didn't help. I turned the shower on to steam up the bathroom, but that didn't help. At this point, I am starting to freak out a little because Sadie can't really breath and she keeps coughing. She coughed so much that she made herself throw up. Finally after about 10 minutes, she calmed down. She went back to sleep and I sat with her for a while. She slept the rest of the night.

When I got back to bed, Emery was ready to eat. So i fed her and help her the rest of the night while I dozed every now and then. She is a little bit sick too, so she didn't want to sleep in her bed. I am really praying that her and Zac don't get what Sadie had which the doctor said sounded like Croup. So we got a prescription for her and hopefully things go well tonight!

I just thought this was funny...both of my kids sitting on chairs reading little pamphlets while waiting for the doctor. The funny thing was how interested the seemed in these little booklets. They each chose to read the one titled "Puberty in girls". I tried to persuade them to read about asthma or allergies, but this was the one they wanted. Not that I told them that was what it was called, but I just thought it was funny.

And here was Emery waiting patiently in the front pack. Such a cutie!

It's always fun when Grandpa comes

The kids have loved having grandpa around this week. Zac keeps tabs on where he is all the time and loves to do things with him. Today, they cleaned out my dad's truck. It was pretty cute so I had to go take a picture.

Also, my dad spent a lot of time holding Emery while she slept, so I got to hang out with the older two. We went outside because it was so warm outside. It was fun to be outside, and I got to clear a bunch of cardboard boxes out of the garage to be thrown away. Then the kids came over and decided to make a "house".

Pretty creative.

Sadie rode on the turtle.

Zac "rode" on Sadie's bike. Notice he isn't even wearing a jacket. Crazy!

Zac helping grandpa. He looks pretty good in a truck huh?

My view from the window. So cute!

Three kids

So far, I have been living the life. I haven't really had to take care of three kids "by myself" for longer than a few hours because my mom was here, then Rob had some days off of work, then My dad came. But he leaves tomorrow... so tomorrow is the first day completely on my own with three kids. I am excited and nervous. Emery has been sleeping really well these past few days, but that is only because someone has been holding her while she has been sleeping. :) Let's just say I have been extremely grateful for all the help!

Anyway, lets hope that tomorrow and the weeks to come will go well!

My three adorable kiddos. Doesn't Zac look huge??

Cute little Emery with my handsome husband!
