Cute Outfits!

This past week has been awesome! Our garden is just growing so fast, but so are the weeds. So we spent some time pulling weeds this week. It is so much more fun to do things like pull weeds when you have someone to do it with. :) Rob had to go to the doctor for the first time this week in a looooooong time. He hurt his foot pretty bad we think it was from jumping on the shovel over and over, but luckily it wasn't broken. I guess he had a pretty bad bruise on one of his plantar fascia tendons. Anyway...so he just has to tough it out...which he is pretty good at.

Rob and I are primary teachers and this week we played a fun game that the kids really enjoyed. One of the stories in the manual was about John Widsoe when he was young. To make a long story short, he earned a gold coin worth 5 dollars and wanted to give half of it to his mom, buy a book, and save the rest. (if only 5 dollars could go that far today) Anyway, on his way home, he reached into his pocket to find a hole and his coin was gone! So he looked, couldn't find it, then he prayed, and the Lord helped him find it. So we thought it would be fun to do a penny hunt outside with our primary kids. They loved it! They were running all over the place looking and looking. It was hilarious. So while Rob was outside "hiding" the pennies, a member of the presidency came up and the kids informed her that we were playing the penny game for the 3rd time. She asked what it was, and they just said "its like an easter egg hunt with pennies! It is so fun!" I tried to get them to tell her how it related to the lesson, but they just were ready to go get the pennies. The sister was probably thinking..."Oh boy..." I thought it was funny.

Sadie rolled over for the first time a week ago. She did it three times right in a row, but she must have forgotten how to do it because she hasn't done it since. She is just such a cutie. Here are some pictures of her in some of her cute clothes.

This is an outfit that Ben and Lindsy sent for her. I love it! It was her first pair of jeans, although they were a little big...

First time besides at the hospital that she is wearing a bow in her hair. I love her summery dress!

We are going to Arizona to visit my parents on thursday so we are pretty excited about that!
Hope everyone has a great week!

Three Months!

Sadie turned 3 months old yesterday! These past three months have been full of joy, laughter, learning, sleep deprivation, and fun. The sleep deprivation is getting a lot better though as Sadie sleeps usually for at least 6 hours and then goes right down after eating for another 3 hours or so. She is such a beautiful little girl and Rob and I feel so blessed to have her in our lives. She teaches us so much every day and we love her so much!

We are excited for this weekend(well, I am at least) because we got invited to a NICU graduation dinner. It is pretty much to say thank you to all the nurses and doctors that helped in the NICU and we are sure grateful for them. They were so nice and patient with all of the parents and I am glad they helped Sadie get healthy. Thank you nurses!

We are excited for what the next years with Sadie will bring!

This is Sadie on the day she was born.

Sadie in the NICU...This was one of my favorite nurses. She was so nice, she was the first one that let me hold Sadie after not being able to for almost 2 days.

Feeding the Ducks!

We took Sadie to feed the ducks twice this week. We had extra stale bread that we didn't know what to do with so we took it to feed the ducks. I wasn't sure how much Sadie was going to like it, but I really think she enjoyed it! Those were some crazy ducks too...let me tell ya! Anyway...here are some lovely pictures from our fun outings.

Looking at the duckies...she would make noises at them. It was funny.

There were also lots of seagulls flying around as you can see in this picture...we almost got hit by their projectiles a few times. We heard it hit the ground next to us.

Wearing her cute polka dotted jacket that grandma Selin got her.

Flying!

Watching the ducks eat the bread.

First time touching grass...I think she liked it.

Cutie Pie!

Lately I have been putting Sadie to sleep without swaddling her, just to see how she will do...She does pretty well, but she still sleeps longer and better when she is wrapped up tight. But here is what she ends up sleeping like if she is not wrapped up. So cute!

Daddy's girl

The problem when you want a family photo is that you have to set the timer. Luckily, Sadie is cute and yawned just as the picture was being taken. We love her!

Sadie is such as Daddy's girl. It makes me so sad when I have been trying to put her to sleep with no success and Rob can just come over and she is out within like 5 minutes. It doesn't really make me sad...but she is definitely a Daddy's girl!

Sadie has this new thing that she does when we are trying to put her to sleep. She arches her back really big and pokes her head out over your arm so she can see what is going on. This picture doesn't do it justice, but it is adorable! I also love that she is starting to grab onto things...like in this picture she is grabbing Rob's shirt!
PS. The medal hanging on the wall belongs to my sister in law Crystal. She got 2nd place at a triathlon. She is amazingly athletic and I hope to maybe be able to do a triathlon with her sometime. Anyway, we hung her medal up on our wall, and we forgot to give it back to her before she went home for the summer. I'll have to send it in the mail!

Deer in our yard!

So just as I was putting Sadie down for a nap, I happened to look out the window and to my surprise, there were 5 deer just eating away at all of our weeds. I was startled but then really excited, so I ran and got my camera and snapped a few shots. To some this may seem pretty silly, but growing up in Phoenix, Arizona, you never got any deer in your backyard. So I thought it was the coolest thing. I tried to get as close as I could without scaring them away. They eventually wandered into our neighbor's yard, but the coolest thing was seeing them jump the back fence!
