Here's our days 2 and 3 at Disneyland. On day 2 we went to California Adventure. Of course right at rope drop you need to speed walk over to the Cars ride because if you don't you will have to wait in a really long line later in the day. (We actually ended up doing that later because we wanted to ride it again. Not so fun in the hot sun!) Then we hit all the rides we wanted and even saw a little Chinese New Year parade. We also went on the new Tower of Terror ride now called Guardians of the Galaxy. It took a lot of convincing to keep Emery in line with us because she was getting more and more nervous as we waited. But she made it and it ended up being her favorite ride.
One thing that was super helpful was looking at wait time on the Disneyland ap. If a ride we wanted to go on had a shortish line then we would run over there and ride it. But something that we realized at the end of the day was that they aren't always accurate. The kids really wanted to ride Guardians of the Galaxy again but the ap said that the wait time was 120 minutes. The park was only opened for like 2 more hours so we decided that we didn't want to wait that long. Scott went to check it out and said the line was way shorter than that. So the kids raced over to ride it and got through in 15 minutes or so. So we decided to run over and do the web slinger Spiderman ride even though the wait time was ridiculously long on the ap. Sure enough, we made it through in less than half of the time the ap said. We think it was a tactic to get people out of the park earlier. Makes sense. But I'm glad we got those two rides in right at the end of the day.
On day 3 it was back to Disneyland. We raced over to the Ride of the Resistance with pretty much everyone else at the park. It is a really long walk and no running so we were all speed walking there. :) We pretty much walked onto the ride. It was worth the side stitch. We actually were able to ride it later in the day when the line said 45 minutes but it only took us about 25 to get through the line and the ride. We rode pretty much every ride we wanted to that day. We were all exhausted by the end. It was a bit of a relief that we weren't coming back the next day!
These pictures are out of order.
All of us on the Carousel. I think this was the very last ride we went on while Rob took Emery on Thunder Mountain.
The castle lit up at night is so pretty.
THe kids all bought ice cream on the last day. I highly recommend ordering food on the ap and then picking it up. It is so convenient!
Star wars land.
Sadie and Zac with Buzz Lightyear. That's always one of our favorite rides...especially when it stops mid ride and you can shoot the targets and rack up the points.
Space Mountain. I think this was the time that we got stuck waiting in line and the ride shut down for a bit so it added like an hour to the wait time. It was very frustrating.
Sadie and I passing by the castle.
Start wars land again. We did the Smugglers Run ride quite a few times. It's a fun one!
This was the best family picture we got.
I surprised Sadie and brought a tiny banner and a little birthday present for her on our last day. :) Since her birthday was in a couple of days.
She really liked this huge pinecone she found on our walk home.
Riley bought this bubble wand as a souvenir. Then we made the mistake of buying a different one for Finley that plays music. Riley's was definitely the better option because it didn't play any music. Ha ha.
Enjoying a yummy popsicle in the stroller.
The Toy story ride was really fun. We had to wait in a pretty long line for it but it was worth it in my opinion. It was a really fun ride.
Grandpa and Emery.
Sadie, Emery and I waiting for Toy story.
Cade was being really cute with Grandpa.
Cute kid.
This is the small moment in the line that he was still. ha ha
The Cars ride is the best. Here's Sadie, Emery, Zac and Gunner in this car.
Luigi's dancing cars ride.
All of us who rode Guardians of the Galaxy. Such a terrifyingly fun ride.
Jellyfish ride.
Sadie, Zac, Gunner and Emery.
Our picture from the ride. I was screaming the entire time. Wearing a mask was not my favorite thing on this ride especially.
The Little Mermaid ride is always a favorite. I love that ride...good music, air conditioning, and there's never a long line.
Zac and Gunner in Cars Land.
I think this is the Tow Mater ride. I can't remember.
I love how they make each land fun. This really looks like Radiator Springs.
Cars ride. Riley didn't like that it went so fast at the end. That's my favorite part! :)
Rob rode with Finley in the back. Carissa and Macey are in the front.
Emery and Sadie are in the back, Zac and Gunner are in the front.
Grandma, Grandpa and Christie in the front, Me and Riley in the back. I love this ride. It's the best. No wonder the line is always long.
Overall, I'm already ready to go back to Disneyland. It's so fun. Very Exhausting, but fun. I love it.
I'll post about our stop at the Beach on our way out of California tomorrow.
