Grandma and Grandpa Selin's visit

So my parents came to town a few weeks ago.  It was tons of fun.  We did some shopping, some projects around the house and they got to see Sadie's dance recital.  Oh and of course, what is a visit from my parents without sickness.  That's right.  Emery threw up one morning and then the sickness spread like wildfire and everyone got it.  But my parents didn't get it until they were on their way home.  Sorry!

They were supposed to arrive on a Wednesday so we decided to do something that morning with some friends to help the time pass quickly.  We went to the farm and Thanksgiving Point.  It was tons of fun.

So here are some pictures.  There are a lot of them.  :)

Zac's hat makes me laugh.  But he wore it most of the time we were there.  I'm sure he could hardly see a thing!

This was on the wagon ride.  The kids had smiles on their faces the whole ride.

Emery and her friend Ella.  Cuties.

Sadie and zac went on the pony right.  I was so proud of them for going by themselves!

Zac was a little nervous at first, but then he had a big grin the rest of the time.  So fun.

We went to a store called Scheels.  It is a huge sporting goods store (kinda like Cabella's) and they have lots of stuff to do there.  There is a little playplace for the kids, a shooting arcade like game, two bowling lanes where you can bowl, and a huge fish tank and taxedermy animals.

And right in the middle of the store is a big ferris wheel.  I rode with Sadie...

And Zac rode with Grandpa.  I should have let Sadie ride with him too, because I was terrified.  It is so scary when they stop you at the very top.  I think Sadie was nervous because I was nervous.

Here are the kids with a huge bear.

Then Sadie climbed in the drivers seat on this jeep.

Here is grandpa with Abe Lincoln.  That store is so fun!

Grandma brought some shells from her recent trip to the beach in Connecticut.  The kids still love to look at, sort and play with them.

We took Sadie's training wheels off to see if she wanted to learn how to ride her bike.  She's not quite ready.  She is very nervous and always leans on whoever is holding her.  Oh well, maybe in a few more months.

Me and Emery enjoying the nice weather outside.

Grandma brought some fun squirt guns.  Emery mostly just drank hers.

Grandpa reading a book to the kids.

Then we attempted family pictures.  This was one of the best we got.  ha ha.

And I LOVE this picture.  So cute.  The kids love their grandparents!

Springville Splash Pad

This is my second post in  one day!  So make sure you scroll down and read the other one too!  : )

So of course, a month or two after we move away from Springville, they open this awesome splash pad that they have been building over the last year or so.  We got to visit it a few times whenever we took Sadie to dance class or went down for something for the duplex, but I'm still bummed that this wasn't here the last five years we lived there!  It is within walking distance of where we lived and just awesome.  (can you tell i'm a bit jealous of all my Springville friends?!)

Anyway, here are some pictures of when the kids and I have gone.

There is a long river with water about 2 to 3 inches deep.  It is perfect for young kids like Emery, but still fun for the older kids because there are water sprayer things all along it.

It is right next to the fire station, which is pretty cool.  The kids love to look at the firetrucks.

Cuddling up in their towels after playing in the water.

This waterfall is at the front of the river.

 More water sprayers.

Emery was just in heaven.  Her eyes lit up every time the water started spraying.  Now every time she sees her swim suit, she picks it up and yells "SPLASH PAD!!!"  ha ha

Then there is this section at the end of the river that is just a splash pad coming out of the cement.

 Zac loves this part.

So anyway, if you live in Springville, you should definitely check it out and put it to good use!  We would be there pretty much everyday this summer if we lived there.  ha ha.

Emery

Our sweet Emery turned 18 months old yesterday.  I can't believe it!  So today was her first day in nursery.  I was going to just keep her with me in relief society for another week or two because she really is awesome during sunday school and relief society.  She would just wander a little bit, make friends with the people who sat next to me, munch on snacks and she would even lay down on her blanket if she was tired.  It was awesome.  My other kids were NOT as mellow as she is at this age.

She is at such a fun age.  She will repeat pretty much any word that we ask her to say.  Most of the time it sounds just like the word, or sometimes not but she will always make sure whatever she says has the same amount of syllables as the word we said.  It is cute.

Like I said, she is mellow.  She will entertain herself for long periods of time.  Sometimes I will find her just sitting downstairs by herself taking advantage of the fact that the other kids are upstairs.  She will just be playing quietly with any toy that she wants.  :)  We love her so much!  We think she is adorable!

She loves to drink the slip and slide water.

Closeup.  (Grandma, this was taken at the new splash pad in Springville.  It is so nice...I will have to do a post separately so you can see what it looks like.  It is great!)

Emery hates the swings.  ha ha.  She loves to just sit in them and watch me push Zac and Sadie, but if I give her a little push, she will start crying until I take her out.  Silly girl.

Just hanging out in the front yard.

Isn't she just a cutie!!!  We love her!

Ducklings

So today I was out back with the kids and Rob was out front doing some yard work when I heard him call me and the kids to go out front.  We went out front and this is what we saw:

Aren't they adorable!  I loved it!  The little ducklings were so cute.  They would follow their mom everywhere.  If she stopped, they would stop and crouch down in the grass.  If she nibbled on something in the grass, so would they.  We stood outside and watched them waddle all around for about 15 minutes.  I could have stayed out watching them for hours.  They are so cute!  So glad we got to see these little guys today!

On a completely unrelated note...we played with shaving cream the other day...

And then we took showers right after.  :)

Wedding and Zac's birthday

I have tried to write this post like three times, but our internet and computer have been acting up, so the pictures wouldn't load.  Finally I got them to load!  So a couple weekends ago, we got to see Luke get married.  It was tons of fun.  We loved having a lot of family around and the kids especially loved having their cousins over.  They are still asking me when we are going to see them again so they can play!  I guess we need to plan a trip to Oregon!  :)

Anyway, the wedding was really nice and the kids did really well.

The day before the wedding was Zac's birthday!  He is three!  He kept saying "it's my birthday right?"  ha ha.  I love that kid.  We put up some streamers across the hallway so he had to run through them when he woke up in the morning.  We told him to run through them, so he backed up, started running, and then crawled under them.  Ha ha.  It was so funny.  We just hung out that day and then that evening, we had the family come over to eat cake and ice cream.

It was such a fun weekend!  Here are some pictures. (not in chronological order)

Here is Emery on our way home after the wedding reception.  She was so tired!

Rob giving his congratulations to the groom.

Zac's birthday cake.  He had Cars candles.

 Enjoying some delicious birthday cake.

One of our attempts at a family picture...

 Here is another...

I love this picture...they had their reception at a barn at Wheeler Farm, so instead of throwing rice when they left, they gave us birdseed so the birds could eat it later.  So fun.

Bride and groom with all the nieces and nephews.  Well, almost all of them.

Zac got a hold of the camera and took this picture,

Then Sadie got a hold of the camera and took this picture.  Which turned out awesome.  I love it.

We are definitely in need of a new camera because as I was looking through all of the pictures we took over the weekend, i noticed they were pretty much all blurry.  :(  Any suggestions as to what kind we get?

Sidewalk chalk

We have lots of space to draw with sidewalk chalk at our new house, so the kids have fallen in love with drawing outside.  Their favorite things are simon says color, we draw shapes on the ground and I call out a shape and they run to it, and they love when I trace their whole body.  It is lots of fun.

Here is Zac.  He did an excellent job tracing the line that I drew for him.

Of course he wanted me to take a picture of him on himself!

 Here is Sadie's creation.

And I wasn't going to do Emery, but before I knew it she layed down just like this and patiently waited until I came over and traced her.  ha ha.  I helped color her in though.  :)
